Generally I can ignore or read past editing errors. However, this book is filled with them and they are repeated over and over. Example: a restroom is referred to as the "loot" over and over. Confusing error when the story has to do with thieves and actual loot. (I presume the authors intended "loo".) The editing errors are numerous and get in the way of the writing and story. So I give -1 star for the inability to hire a competent editor.The story itself is good, although not great. The characters are a bit uneven in their abilities and how they respond to things over the course of the story. I don't think I'm giving away anything to say there is a brother and sister main character. The sister is portrayed as very competent in some areas of the book only to become the stereotypical damsel in distress in others. Really? -1 star for that one.

This was a good read. It took a bit to get into it, but once I did I had to know what happened. Grammatical errors aside, there were very detailed descriptions that were very easy to imagine. There were also multiple points of view which sometimes make it hard to follow when reading. The story was great with nonstop action, betrayal, and a certain feeling of hopelessness and defeat. The main characters, a brother and sister were led to believe one thing, when in actuality the person that raised them was their parents murderer. They are tasked with stealing multiple magical items for a purpose they don't realize is nefarious until it is too late. Story will continue in more books.
3/3.5 stars for me.I actually had a really hard time getting into this book. I don’t know there was just something about it that I couldn’t get into. The characters were okay but again I had a hard time connecting with either of them.The overall concept was good there was just something missing for me. I really wanted to love this but it left me disappointed.
Great book! Great build up, the setting of the story as well as the vast characters. The plot is so intriguing, you just keep reading to determine what will unfold next. Who is friend, who is foe? Will the hero’s be able to make it? These are some of the questions that are roaming through your head. Mystery, action and fantasy all rolled into one book!
This is the magical start to a new series. The storyline is well-crafted, fast-pasted with dastardly villains and adventure. The main characters are siblings who are likable, relatable and devoted to the other. There is substance that will pique your interest and hold it. I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
