This book is not like any other couponing book you will find. It is so much more! Kasey Knight Trenum has the most honest, humorous and, at times heart-warming perspective on couponing. She admits that she doesn’t “like†couponing but explains how it is simply a means to help provide for her family.This book is the perfect tool for beginning couponers. Kasey has a great way of explaining every aspect of couponing in a simple to understand manner while at the same time sharing her own light-hearted stories that provide insight to all the information she is giving you. You will find yourself learning and laughing, even sometimes crying all at the same time!Kasey walks you through each step of couponing from where to get the coupons, organizing your coupons, how to use them, what to buy, where to buy and even how to store the abundance of food you will inevitably acquire through couponing all while saving your family money!Unlike a lot of “extreme couponing†books, shows and/or websites Kasey stresses the need for morals, ethics and integrity when couponing which is, in my opinion, sorely lacking in the world in general not just when shopping. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! It's very inspirational and gives GREAT tips on couponing without driving yourself crazy and without spending the hours of couponing!!! I've saved so much by reading this book!!!! She talks about how she HAD to coupon in order to make ends meet NOT because she wanted to be on TV! It's so nice to see a real wife, mother, daughter teach another real wife, mother, daughter couponing!
I am so happy this book was offered on Book Bub! I hope to implement her system soon but even if I never get it all, I learned some great principles. I was so proud today when I stacked a manufacture coupon on top of a store coupon and bought a dozen yogurts that I use, not paying full price for what I need! And I saved $2.00 and won't have to buy it next week when it is not on sale!! Love, love this book! And I feel like I am a better steward of what God has given me.
This book is very autobiographical and somewhat preachy which explains the origin of some of her methods that didn't bother me I'm a story teller also and the info is very newbie friendly there are pictures to aid understanding and the shorthand is explained in depth . Using two of her principles this book has already paid for the money and time spent . It's Sunday -Off to get the paper !!
Caught that "Extreme" show and of course know that those are all staged. Figured there has to be good information out there. I came across this book as a Kindle deal and gave it a shot. It is very well written and had the information you need to get going.You are not going to learn how to save 98% all the time, (no one really does). This year so far we have saved about 56% and are not hoarding anything. The stories about using couponing as a blessing to others are inspiring. I would recommend you get this and read it and use it.
This book lays out the benefits of couponing without going overboard. It's a wonderful way for families to cut back on expenses without cutting out things they enjoy! It is also a great book for those who want to start couponing but are overwhelmed by all of the options and couponing lingo. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
The book made it easy to set up a system and follow it. I used it last summer and found several instances where I saved 75-80%. She also makes suggestions for the non coupon crowd while reminding them saving a little is still worth the effort and can be beneficial.
Loved this book, and I read parts of it again and again. This has gotten me started on a modest couponing effort, which has so far netted me over $70 savings in two trips to the grocery store! I have a much better understanding of how this whole thing works, and I don't feel guilty for not attempting to be an extreme couponer. I am also thankful for the many resources given in the book.
