It was the right one for class

Was great to get the book so fast. I received it faster then they said it would get here. Very happy

The book I ordered was in great condition but I ordered on Jan 14 and did not receive it until Feb 4th. I was supposed to be guarenteed a two day delivery because of the price but obviously I didn't get that. My son needed it for a college class and was behind 5 assignments due to the loss in time.

Seems like a good quality product.

Excelent book!

Mary Margaret funk has written a complete series of books relating to the teachings of Lectio Divina. I started with "Thoughts Matters" and I'm glad I did,it explained everything that would later come in my study of lectio.

The author provides some good food for thought in this book as she attempts to make the writing of John Cassian and the desert fathers accessible to the average reader. Unfortunately, the book is burdened by poor organization and writing style that often distracts the reader from the point she is trying to make. Sentences often seem disjointed and there are frequent, unnecessary repititions. A good editor could have greatly improved this book, and it is worth improving. Perhaps some day we will see a second edition.

I have practiced lectio divina in the past and benefited by it, and I had wanted to delve more deeply than before, but when I came across Funk's chapter on eating three meals a day and only three meals a day and found no room given for those of us with health issues relating to the digestive system or diabetes or other diseases that involve a need to eat in a different way, that this was given as the only way without exception and the only way to have a contemplative life, I was so turned off I could not read further. Maybe I was supposed to jump over that part and know it simply could not apply to me, but it seemed callous and difficult, not only for me, but for others sakes as well, as I suffer great pain in my body with regard to digestion and how I must eat to survive. I am certain there is much good here for those who can follow this particular part of the path. I am in need of compassion and caring, a looking ahead in the writing of another to the exceptions to such hard and fast rules. Maybe that is addressed later in her book, and if so, I apologize for not looking further, but something as serious as this for so many is important enough to be addressed in context.

In Thoughts Matter (Discovering the Spiritual Journey) Sr. Meg retrieves for us in contemporary language and modern day settings what John Cassian wrote about in the 4th century. How by knowing our thoughts and stabilizing them we can seek union with God who is our heart's desire. Since reading Thoughts Matter I have become aware of my thoughts, which ones lead me to God (virtues), which ones lead me away from God (vices) and how to catch them at the earliest opportunity. My thoughts are in service of my relationship with God and a skilful means of sustaining that relationship. Also Thoughts Matter has been a great help to me in creating an ever presence of a Christ consciousness in my life. Thanks Sr. Meg for highlighting this desert tradition. Ann F.

We are face with so many decisions everyday, if we are not aware of where or how these thoughts are affecting our lives, our drives, or our moods, how can we change the things in our lives that need to be changed? This is the second cookbook I have purchased from Carolyn Ketchum. I loved the first book so much I knew I had to have this one! I cant stop reading it and I cant wait to start cooking! I love the tips and tricks she provides for meal planning! I love that every recipe has a beautiful picture with reference icons to let you if it's freezer friendly, 30 minute, slow cooker, or one pan recipes! The pictures make you drool and you cant wait to run into your kitchen and cook. I am a working Mom and cook low carb for my family of four and I love that these recipes are so easy and use ingredients you can easily get from the supermarket! Oh and if your dairy free there are a lot of dairy free recipes. So happy to see some Instant Pot recipes too! I love that most of the main dish recipes offer side suggestions to go with your meal. It is so well written and so easy to use with an index that has pictures of each recipe. It is important to me to have all the nutrition facts listed on every recipes too. I know you will love this cookbook as much as I do!

This cookbook is perfect for what I need. Easy to follow with pictures. I added pictures of all the dishes.

Carolyn's keto recipes are amazingly simple, quick, and the whole family enjoys them, even the picky eaters. I cant even tell you how many times I have made the brie and broccoli frittata recipes for a quick easy meal. Best of all these recipes control my diabetes 2 and feed my familyAs an added bonus, I already have all or the majority of ingredients in my fridge, pantry or freezer.Carolyn's cooking style matches my own family's preferred food choices so cooking for the family and myself has never been easier since she has done all the hard work figuring out the carbs.Another feature I love are her notes covering serving suggestions, making the recipse faster, easier, and making the dish ahead- my personal favorite.I have bought all her cookbooks and am anxiously awaiting her newest dessert cookbook coming out in July!

I would have impressed myself as well if I did not already know how easy it was to make. I've made the reuben skillet three times already. It is so quick and majorly addicting!! My boyfriend loves the bacon sloppy joes. I love flipping through the pages on Sunday and figuring out which recipes that I am going to try out during the week. I highly recommend it!

I have been buying this book via local bookstores since 2007; I trust this book--and the authors--implicitly, since doctors really don't know the contraindications of the medicines they prescribe--and most pharmacists don't either.You have to be very proactive and take charge yourself whenever a doctor prescribes medication for you, because no one else is going to check to see if any of it IS contraindicated, and one easy way to do that is by a book such as this. It doesn't just list medicines--it also tells you symptoms, dangers, age groups (newborns to Seniors), dosages, and emergencies should anyone overdose, in addition to other information that really no one else is going to tell you. WELL WORTH THE COST. As drugs come on the market, they update this book every year or so.Personally I would not be without this book.

This is a great book ! If you have prescriptions to take it shows what the pill is supposed to look like and the proper dosage and also what the side affects are and what they are used for !

I'm not 100% sold on this book, as it is not as comprehensive as it could be. Upon closer examination, it seems that there are a few Rx titles missing from its pages. Also, there is only one section in the center of the book where pictorial representations of the drugs are provided (and these are only the most common types prescribed today). I purchased this for my medical coding classes to help me code prescriptions based on type. For any prescriptions not provided in this reference, the internet is a good source of information regarding drug type and dosage increments for coding assignments.Is it a good reference for medical coding students? Meh, I can't really say it would be my first choice now that I've looked at it firsthand.

It’s published in 2010 & I have Meds that are prescribed to me in 2015 that I cannot find because they are more current than this book — I am deeply disturbed that the published date is NOT included in the description— We should get current editors of prescription guides - I am really angry about this !!!

Bought this for my dad. He's 75 years old, refuses to use the internet and is obsessed with the medication he takes. He loves this. In fact, this is the second book because he wore out the first one.

With all the different drugs on the market today and taking into consideration the possibility of drug interactions and side effects, it is vital to stay informed. Recently my wife was prescribed two different medications by her doctor. Taking them together could have been a threat to her life, neither the druggist nor the prescribing doctor warned her about the side effects that would take place if she took both medications within 4 to 6 hours of each other. The Pill book did! GET THIS IN YOUR HOME! Think generics are exactly the same as brand name drugs? Think again!

I had an old version to this and it helped me a lot in the past so I had to get the updated version since there are lots of new medication on the market now. It give the names of the pills, the generic brand name and all the important information on them. For example, if you're on certain medication and you're not suppose to use something else while taking it, It gives you the reason. I was on a medication and It says I couldn't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice, but the information that came with it didn't say why. Since I wanted to know the reason I consulted the pill book and it gave me the reason. this is a great book to have in your home so go ahead and buy it. You wont be sorry.

The storm leaves campers stranded in a mix of tangled trees piled like matchsticks. Four young men on a winter hiking trip suddenly experience a fast regional thaw and watch as several feet of snow turn to slush, suddenly flooding their lean-to and leaving them to hike over treacherous lakes and rivers that can't hold their weight. An experienced pilot and his wife crash their small plane into a mountainside, barely surviving, only to find themselves miles from nowhere.These are just some of the stories that the author brings to life, some old and some recent. The most striking aspect this collection is the emphasis on search and rescue (SAR) in conjunction with the survivors ordeals. There are numerous missing persons mentioned over the years, some found and some lost forever. Instead of dwelling on morbid or gory descriptions, Bronksi focuses on the survivors and those that risk their lives to save others. Sometimes remnants of a lost hiker are found years later. To those of us who have come to appreciate the God-created majesty and beauty of the Adirondak Mountains, Peter Bronski's book reminds us that "the wildness" of weather and terrain can quickly become desperate enemies to the overly adventurous among us. Amazing stories that give us a deep appreciation for those mountain natives that are able to mount death defying rescues quickly.

What a wonderful read. I just recently discovered hiking/camping in the Adirondacks and its become my new love.... So during the week when I'm in the city working and there is no chance of being in the wilderness (And I'm itching for the weekends)... This book helps to quell that itch and gives me something to read so I feel like I'm there. This book brings it all to life, the perfect mix of storytelling, facts/information (perfect for understanding where everything is taking place) and suspense. It also makes one respect the power of nature and the Adirondacks, and if you're a hiker, definitely helps you get an understanding of what can do wrong. The stories are numerous and just the right length. Just when you have reached the end of one, the next is beginning. Lastly the author does an excellent job of combining quotes in the beginning of each chapter from sources that I'm sure to follow up on and will make my reading list in the future. Good job and thanks for the awesome read!!!

I just read the Preface and I am hooked. Peter Bronski's writing style is both passionate and eloquent. The pages come alive with his love and respect for the outdoors and especially the Adirondacks. I am very happy and jumping back in right now :)

Having lived near the Adirondacks and having ridden motorcycles all over them, I was familiar with many of the mountains and places. I lived through the micro burst and the ice storm of 98. All the stories were excellent and in some cases very intriguing. Highly recommend if you are interested in survival situations.

I cut my outdoor teeth in the high peaks region back in the late 70s & early 80s. The beauty and unpredictability of the weather in this region are unmatched. My spine tingled as I read the harrowing stories of people caught in the clutches of bad situations, and fighting to make the best of it. I've been a Search & Rescue team member in Kern County Ca and Monterey county Ca, and been in some truely frightening situations, but none as scary as a severe thunder & lightning storm on the top of Giant Mountain. This book brought back the rememberance of my primal fear...feeling my hair stand up from the static building before the lightning strikes, the screaming of both me and my trailmates, as the thunder boomed, reminding us of how frail life really is. What a great book!

This book is useful in case study about hiking / backpacking deaths and dangers. Recommended. These are REAL dangers... not the make-believe "paranormal" fantasies pushed by paranoid types.

Tragedies and near tragedies told in a very conversational style. You felt like you knew the people that work the rescue teams in the White Mountains after reading this book.
